SEASONAL AFFECTIVE DISORDER -
Seasonal affective disorder (SAD) is a type of depression that's related to changes in seasons — SAD begins and ends at about the same times every year. If you're like most people with SAD, your symptoms start in the fall and continue into the winter months, sapping your energy and making you feel moody. These symptoms often resolve during the spring and summer months. Less often, SAD causes depression in the spring or early summer and resolves during the fall or winter months.
Treatment for SAD may include light therapy (phototherapy), psychotherapy and medications.
Don't brush off that yearly feeling as simply a case of the "winter blues" or a seasonal funk that you have to tough out on your own. Take steps to keep your mood and motivation steady throughout the year.
Seasonal Affective Disorder is real! I have suffered from it for many years. When I was first diagnosed when my children were little, I was prescribed medication which ended up having more side effects (including suicidal thoughts) that were honestly worse than just being depressed. I have learned many techniques throughout the years that have helped me learned to cope/deal and pretty much win the battle over the depression.
1. Get plenty of rest.
2. Tale extra Vitamin D.
5. Talk to a friend or someone you trust.
6. Get some energy work. ie: Reiki
I am not saying don't get checked out by your doctor. Please do. I am just a believer in the natural way of healing. I also know that the natural way may not work for everyone at first and that's ok. The important thing is to get some help. I have had a harder time lately because at times I get so busy making sure everything and everyone else are ok that I have slacked off on my own self-care. That being said. I have recognized this and am taking the necessary steps to feel better.
If you are reading this and going through something similar, please feel free to reach out to me. I am always available to listen and or just sit in silence. Don't forget to check on your strong friends. Sometimes they need someone too.
I am accepting appointments for energy sessions. If you would like to know more about energy work let me know.
Always remember - YOU MATTER ;
LOVE, LIGHT, & POSITIVE HEALING ENERGY!
